La Gaeta is a limited-production extra virgin olive oil born in 2006 in the heart of Terra Alta, Catalonia, from the reconversion of vineyards and hazelnut groves into olive orchards. Crafted from Empeltre olives—some over 300 years old, others just 10-15 years young—this award-winning oil showcases a remarkable acidity of just 0.18. Golden in hue with enticing aromas of ripe tomato and banana, it seduces the palate with exquisite refinement and delicate sweetness, finishing with a subtle peppery note. Harvested at véraison and pressed within 24 hours at low temperature, it claimed the prestigious Prize for Best Empeltre Oil of Terra Alta DO in 2010.
