Why buy Castaing?
The history of foie gras is intertwined with that of our civilization and is an integral part of the culinary and cultural heritage of France.
This prestigious dish was handed down from the Egyptians to the Greeks and Romans who made it known in Gaul. Many years later, in 1925, it was in Coudures, a charming village in Chalosse in the Landes, that Joseph Castaing decided to share throughout the year his local culinary riches, such as foie gras, pâtés and confits that make him and his guests happy.
Chalosse, a dream village, was the location chosen to establish his maison, where the premises for the production of his foies were clear from the beginning: excellence, authenticity, quality, savoir faire and craftsmanship.
Today, the founder's great-grandson, Jean Daniel, is in charge of running this family business, which is at the forefront of foie gras and its derivatives producers in the Landes.
Today, their products can be found in the windows of the best gourmet shops, on the menus of the best restaurants and at dinner in the most luxurious hotels. Through hard work and effort, they have managed to make a name for themselves as one of the best foie gras producers not only in France, but in the world.
